Spagyric Tinctures and Extracts are by-far the most common items of Spagyric Pharmacopoeia available today. Part of that is because they are relatively easy to make compared to other items and they can be made without specialist equipment. The other thing that makes them popular is that the tincturing process somewhat overlaps with modern herbalist practices. That being said, there is far more than just the work with Salts that differentiates Herbal Tincture Methodologies from Spagyric Tincture Methodologies.

In this class, students will have the opportunity to see how to make Professional Spagyric Tinctures and Extracts using techniques that attain the cleanest and most active results. This will be taught from a Spagyric Perspective, so be prepared to unlearn any Herbalism that you have been taught, as there are some rather important and fundamental differences

Students will learn about:

    • Harvesting and Drying techniques (including astronomological information)
    • Differences between Extracts and Tinctures
    • Extract Methodologies (Simple Method vs Ideal Method)
      • Aqua Vitae Extracts
      • Dual Extraction Methods (How to do it Properly within the framework of Spagyria)
    • Tincture Methodologies
  • Solve et Coagula
      • Filtration Methods For Biomass
      • Incineration + Calcination of Biomass
      • Dissolution + Filtration of Ash
      • Evaporation of Filtrate
    • Subsequent Leachings and the Purification of Crude Salt
    • Crystallization of the Purified Salts
    • Recombining Salts with Tinctures and Elixirs
      • Proper Methodologies
      • Proper Environmental Conditions
    • Final Filtration + What To Do With the Filtered Salts
    • Bottling, Labeling and Comparing the Finished Spagyric Products
    • Astrology for Lab Work

To eliminate the need to leave the environment for lunch and dinner, both meals will be provided and served here at the Academy which is included in the overall cost.

The Final Menu Is Forthcoming and Will Be Built Around the Attendees, so please inform us of any Food Allergies, Preferences, or Sensitivities you may have. Our chefs specialize in preparing gourmet food options where there is something for everyone. During this 3.5 Day Immersion Program, Students Will Work Together To Create The Six Most-Common Items of Spagyric Pharmacopoeia….from a Single Herb. Students will learn the practical methods and lab techniques to make each item of Spagyric Pharmacopoeia, but more importantly, they will learn how to create an entire Apothecary from a single plant. In so doing, they will also learn about each Herb and its different Philosophic constituents and be able to ascertain which plant[s] lend themselves best to each different item of Pharmacopoeia.

Over the course of 3 and half days, students will work as a team under Phoenix’ tutelage to: Process and prepare Herbal Biomass for various extractions; Distill an Essential Oil; Make a Spagyric Extract; Make Spagyric Tinctures; Prepare a Spagyric Elixir; Perform Separatory Distillations of a Tincture; Purify and/or Rarify Various Grades of Fixed Sulfur; Incinerate and Calcine Herbal Biomass and Fixed Sulfur; Calcine and Purify Potassium Carbonate Salts (Salt of Salt and Salt of Sulfur) from Plant Sources; and create the following items of Spagyric Pharmacopoeia

    • Spagyric Extract
    • Spagyric Tincture
    • Spagyric Elixir of the 1st Degree
    • Spagyric Rarified Tincture
    • Spagyric Essence per Destillatio
    • Philosophic Spagyric Essence

This Immersion Program has been designed to be the absolute best way to learn Spagyria in person. Students who enroll in this Immersion Study Program will save years of mistakes and will be able to start off at a far greater level of experience than those that try self-navigation alone. Phoenix generously shares his lab experience, provides you with proper technique + general “do's-and-don'ts,” and helps students drastically decrease the learning curve as much as possible. For instance, over the past 10 years, Phoenix has standardized all the lab equipment he uses for education, allowing students the ability to eliminate all the hassle and confusion of what type of equipment to purchase and to get affordable pieces of labware that will serve them well for years to come if cared for properly.

This level of the work covers all the information [though not nearly in as much detail due to time constraints] of Spagyria 1010, 1020, and 1030. This is the foundation of all further Spagyric Work, including Phoenix’ signature “Spagyric Artistry” workshop series. Students who have purchased or are currently enrolled in Spagyria 1010, 1020, or 1030 are eligible for a $750 discount on registration.

This is an incredibly full curriculum and students will be required to pay attention to details, be alert, and work on their feet 10+ hours per day in the lab. If this curriculum is put into practice, it will easily take a person 2-3 years if done full time, or 3-7 years if done part-time, to practice all these techniques on just 50 different plants!

Just like all the rest of our products, all food being served will be Certified Organic, Ecodynamic, Beyond-Organic, or Wildharvested with a heavy preference for Locally Sourced when available.
