This Devil's Claw Root Spagyric Tincture is made with the root of the Devil's Claw plant.Harpagophytum is also known as grapple plant or wood spider. Our Spagyric Tinctures are made with Organic, Ecodynamic, or Wildharvested Biomass and Tinctured with Organic Cane Spirits as our Veg Mercury. Once the tincture is made, we add Spagyric Salt of Salt of the Vegetable Kingdom and digest until reactions have stopped.
Historically, Devil's Claw has been used for pain, arthritis, indigestion, skin conditions, osteoarthritis, tendinitis, fibromyalgia, sciatica, gout, symptoms of Lyme disease, and rheumatic conditions affecting the joints, ligaments, tendons, bones, and muscles.
We make no claims as to the uses or efficacy of this product. There may be an enormous difference between what the herb has historically been used for and how any particular Spagyric Preparation of the herb can be used.
We aim to begin using IDF Analysis to provide IDF data of the detected phytochemicals and uses of each of our items of Spagyric Pharmacopoeia. Purchases of this product help to fund this enormous research project.

We strive to use eco-friendly materials whenever possible. Currently, our packing peanuts are biodegradable, and we use biodegradable packing tape and Scotch tape, along with recyclable cardboard boxes. Due to our commitment to sustainability, we do not shrink-wrap any of our products (except for our Spagyri-Zyme Probiotic lids for shipping safety).
In late 2024, our company relocated to an off-grid facility deep in the wilderness of rural West Virginia to better align with our values. We literally live and work "Over the River(s) and through the Woods." This remote location means the wild-harvested herbs and mushrooms we grow and source are as pure as it gets, completely untouched by agricultural contaminants. But let’s be real—it also makes getting packages out the door a real adventure.
Shipping Timeframes & Challenges
We always aim to process and ship orders within 14 business days, but our ability to do so is entirely dependent on weather and terrain conditions.
In winter, heavy snowfall can leave us snowed in for extended periods. In the winter of 2024-2025, for example, we were stuck for over a month with no way in or out.
Our region is a temperate rainforest, receiving approximately 66 inches of annual precipitation. That means frequent flooding and deep mud can turn our roads into a complete mess, making it impossible to get supplies in or packages out.
If conditions prevent us from shipping on time, we’ll reach out with an update.
By placing an order, you acknowledge and accept these potential shipping delays. Refunds, returns, or cancellations due to delays caused by weather or rough conditions will not be granted.
Depending on the size and weight of your package, it will typically be shipped via USPS Priority Mail or First Class Mail, unless you select a different carrier at checkout.
We truly appreciate your patience and support as we do our best to get your order to you—no matter what Mother Nature throws our way!
Due to the nature of our products and the challenges of shipping from our off-grid wilderness location, all purchases are final. No returns or exchanges will be accepted.
Damaged or Lost Orders
If your order is lost in transit or arrives damaged, we are happy to send a replacement at no extra cost—provided that you:
Email us at support@phoenixaurelius.org with:
A clear photo of the damaged item
A photo of the shipping box it came in
Photos of the packing material
Verify the damaged/missing item via a special link we will send you (this helps us process an insurance claim for your package).
We cannot issue refunds for lost or damaged items—only replacements.
Shipping Delays & Order Cancellations
We are located in a remote, off-grid region that experiences severe winter snowstorms, heavy rainfall, and impassable muddy roads. These conditions can delay shipping beyond our standard 14-business-day fulfillment window.
By placing an order, you acknowledge that shipping delays due to weather or terrain conditions are out of our control. Refunds, returns, or cancellations will not be granted due to these delays.
We do our best to get your package out as quickly as possible and will contact you if significant delays occur.
Out-of-Stock Items & Inventory Errors
If we make an error and an item you ordered is out of stock, you can choose to:
Wait for restocking – Some products take months to produce, as we wild-harvest and process them seasonally. If you opt to wait, we will notify you when your order is ready.
Receive a refund – If you prefer not to wait, we will issue a full refund for the unavailable item.
Final Note
We appreciate your understanding and support as we navigate the unique challenges of shipping from our wilderness-based facility. If you have any questions, please reach out to us at support@phoenixaurelius.org before placing your order.
Thoughts about my first experience w/ Spagyric tincture, Devil's Claw
I have been using Devil's claw for a long time for joint pain, capsules & tinctures. I am a clinical herbalist and nutritional health consultant, a practicioner. So, I wanted to try the Spagyric version. The spray is unusually alcohol forward and strong using the 3 sprays, but the flavor following reminds me of chocolate and is very pleasant, I can taste the devil's claw too. As far as a relieving effect on my joint inflammation and pain, I haven't really noticed a remarkable improvement in my joint pain, though I have not been taking full dosage daily. Wondering why this is delivered in a spray and not drops, as a tincture. Perhaps a 'drop' of a spagyric tincture is more volume than the 3 spray dosage? Or, is it important to deliver to the mouth for best absorption? Enjoying the product and will buy others when I can afford to, thanks!
Hi Chris!
Thanks for trying out the product and for giving a review. I just wanted to pop on and answer your question about the spray top:
The spray tops are the result of a number of things designed to optimize customer convenience as well as optimizing delivery.
Dropper Tops were extremely difficult for a lot of our clientele. We regularly received feedback saying that people couldn't tell how many drops they were applying and asked for advice and solutions. So we made videos showing people and even made specific shotglasses that people could add their drops to and then add Spagyri-Zyme to it as well. And those worked decently well, but we still had a lot of feedback that dropper tops were too confusing to people, and then some people left them in their car and over a period of a year or more, sometimes the rubber suction top would crack and then their product would evaporate. So we were constantly dealing with all that...
Simultaneously, since 2017 when I co-owned Niyama Alchemy Lab and Elixir Bar in Portland Oregon, we did tons of research and showed that the delivery of the medicinal components can be optimized by over 300% if we created an atomization of the formula. The spray top options matching Miron Dark Violet glass bottles were all tested and we noticed that customers loved the simplicity of using the product and it was already in a format that required no 'learning curve' like dropper tops do, since common consumers are already used to breath freshener sprays and many other types of oral spray products.
Because we get so many clients and supporters who have never even tried herbal medicines before, we find that making the experience as easy as possible is important. Most importantly to me from a product design perspective, I want to make sure that the medicine and all its methods of delivery are as optimized as possible so as to decrease waste of the product, ensure financial value for our clients, and decrease waste of source materials.
Now, concerning the dosage and your feedback of not having noticed a remarkable improvement in your joint pain, I am curious what dosage you are using. For legal purposes, we have to say 1-3 sprays, but that's obviously extremely generic and often times nowhere near the end of the story when it comes to safe or effective dosages. So if have any further questions about this or want to know more, please just reach out via email and I'll be happy to give you specified guidelines based on what you provide us with.
Thank you again for your purchase! We appreciate your support greatly.
